Neuschwanstein memories

The Neuschwanstein Castle is the background that I have on my computer (I took this picture). And I just started thinking about all the fun times that Thomas and I have had together. It is so much fun spending time with him, whether it is at the Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany on our belated Honeymoon, or if it is just playing video games on the old Nintendo at my parents house. We always just have a blast together. I love him!
We had an awesome time at Thanksgiving with my parents. My brother Bob was there with his wife Maria and their adorable baby Emma. My brother Chris was there with his little boy Joseph. Of course Liam and Megan came over too. We just had so much fun with them too, making the Turkey hold a diet coke can just like my Daddy, dressing Emma up in cute clothes and sneaking her brownies, the boys playing video games (this is a trend for Thomas). It was just a great time there too.
So I posted previously about being UK Nursing's poster girl, well Thomas searched my name on google and found another picture of me on their website. http://www.mc.uky.edu/NURSING/Alumni/recent.htm
Everything is going great. We are doing great in our classes. Just trying to get everything finished up for the semester, figuring out which final to study for more. But all is going well. And we can't wait for the big break coming up.

Poster Girl

Here is the postcard for the College of Nursing. I really am the "Poster Girl"!

All is going well. Thomas and I both are doing great in our classes. We cannot believe it is already Midterms. Which means it is almost Christmas break!!! Which means its almost New Years in NYC with Aunt Peggy!!! We have decided to go to NYC for New Years and are so happy. Its a great time to go while we don't have kids yet and we are still young enough to do stupid things like that. I had hoped for this ever since we hung out with Aunt Peggy a couple months ago and.... I already bought snow boots!

We are really excited this weekend to be going to my Parents' house. All is well.

Fall Semester

Well, Its been forever since our last post, so here is a little update.

We have started classes and all is going well. Thomas is doing great in Organic Chemistry II and Plant Biology, but is a little worried about Physics. I am doing well in my classes. I got a 90% on my Pathopharmacology class, which is only 2 points away from an A, I am really happy about that. I also got an 86.44% on my first 8 credit hour class (which is alot higher than my classmates). I just got signed off for Injections and got 1 bonus point added to my overall grade for getting it right on the first try. Lab is so scary every week. We have a 15 page study guide, 30 page long chapter to read, and videos to watch... and then we have a pretest at the beginning of class. If you don't get at least an 80% then you have to do at least 5 hours of remedial work :P. My first pretest I got an 80, then a 90, 90, and this week I got a 100%!!! I was so happy!

Thomas and I went to the 2nd Annual scholarship brunch for the College of Nursing. I again received two scholarships and was able to meet one of my Donors. She is a Spanish senora living in Florida and an amazing lady. There I found out that I am the poster girl of the College of Nursing. I knew they had put my picture in their quarterly magazine, but also my face is on at least 2000 postcards they send out thanking people for donating. And.......... I HAVE BEEN ASKED TO SPEAK AT NEXT YEAR'S SCHOLARSHIP BRUNCH!!! I'll be sure to scan the postcard and put it on here.

Thomas and I are doing great, just studying like crazy, and trying to get through everything. I am not working anymore because I have so much school work, so its just study, study, and more study.

Arkansas

This past weekend we headed down to Arkansas to a family reunion. It was nice getting to see all of my Dad's family. We went swimming and ate lots of pork butt. On that Saturday we went to a Flea Market. It was a very cultural experience. I chased this car around the flea market so I could take a picture. So, most people take their dog to town, but this guy brought his rooster!!! Even James felt like a city boy there (and that's messed up). But we had a good time and made it home safely.

Video Games

This week we are spending time with my parents. Aren't they so cute together after 30 years?
Yesterday we went to Jonathan and Erin's house and helped them rip out their old carpet. We had a good time just hanging out, then Jonathan made us tilapia tacos with peach relish, they were really good. We also had lots of fun playing with Claire and her chubby legs. Afterwards Jonathan gave Thomas his video game stash, including a super nintendo, nintendo 64, sega genesis, and games for all of them plus nes games. Thomas couldn't have been happier.

Monday Thomas sawed down his first tree. Look at how proud he is. Afterwards we had a huge fire and roasted hotdogs, they were really good.
We are greatly enjoying our vacation and looking forward to our big trip to Arkansas in Mama's new car.

Summer Half Over?

Wow, we cannot believe the summer is only half over. We feel as though we have already done everything. We went to D.C. for a week to hang out with the awesome Nick dude. We went to Portugal and had the most amazing time there visiting friends on the Azores and the mainland. We headed up to Palmyra to visit with Thomas's Mission Trainer James and his amazing family. We also have spent so much time playing video games and swimming at Thomas's parents house. We were there when my Mommy retired and remember walking through those doors for the last time and crying because we were so happy. We went to Saint Louis to see Uncle Jimmy and Kansas to visit my Grandma and see a Royals game and my parents' car dying on the way home. We went to Lex stake Girl's camp and Thomas getting an enormous spider bite. Its just been so wonderful. We are so blessed to get to see so many wonderful places and all the people we love that we can't see all the time while at school. We just cannot wait for our adventures yet to come this summer.
